Dr Kate Brookie
Kate is a registered clinical psychologist, has a PhD in Psychology, and is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists. Kate’s PhD focused on the role of nutrition in psychological health and how small lifestyle changes can have significant impacts on overall mental wellbeing. She has presented at international conferences and has published articles in internationally referred journals.
In line with the ethos of the Integrative Practice, Kate takes a holistic approach towards mental health, considering lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, sleep, and stress alongside more traditional intervention strategies found in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Her clinical work focuses on working with adults (aged 18+) experiencing a range of problems including:
anxiety and mood difficulties
stress, burnout and coping
adjustment to loss and life changes
chronic fatigue and other health related concerns
nutritional psychology concerns
Kate has a commitment to evidence-based methods and a compassionate and flexible approach to assisting others. She sees individual adult clients at the Integrative Practice on Thursdays.
